Here in Kumamoto with the Japanese/American Embassy gang! Just finished an interview with the local Kumamoto newspaper. Got an hour break before I go on stage for my performance/talk show (it's what they're calling it). People from the audience get to come up to a microphone and ask me questions in-between my songs. Representing Hawai'i!!!

WORLD INVITATIONAL HULA FESTIVAL - JAPAN
“E Ho‘i Mai I Ka Piko Hula”

“Otsukaresama deshita” never had a more significant meaning than after we finished last night's competition. It wasn't 100% perfect on my end, but for 26 songs (ka‘i & ho‘i included), I thought Rodney Bejer & I did pretty darn good. With the exception of one minor descrepancy, everyone (hālau, judges, and those in attendance) felt it was very successful...and that's cool with me!This would have to be the biggest monster I (and Rod) have ever taken on in the history of our careers of being the “gypsy musician”.

Here in Chigasaki, getting ready for rehearsals for the World Invitational Hula Festival - Japan. Judges present: Nā Kumu Hula Aukele Siangco, Kailihiwa “Hiwa” Vaughan-Darval, Ipolani Vaughan, Anthony La`akapu-a-Kawailani Lenchanko, and Leimomi Ho.

Rodney & I are ready to take on the music!!! YEAH!
